at Candy London

Candy London (formerly Candy & Candy) is seeking a junior interior designer to join its team in London.

Candy London is the world’s pre-eminent interior designer and development manager, recognised globally for setting unparalleled new standards in luxury property design and development. Operating at the highest level of luxury, the brand is synonymous with exceptional design and intricate attention to detail, creating trophy homes and managing outstanding development projects across the world.

Our London based studio is seeking a talented junior interior designer with a background in high-end residential development or high-end hospitality work.  This is an opportunity to join a close-knit, dynamic team working across a broad range of projects but always with the same commitment to good design, quality craftsmanship, and an unprecedented level of luxury.  The ideal candidate must have a genuine passion for design, a strong technical understanding, and be equally as comfortable with fabrics and finishes as with drawings and detailed design.

Responsibilities:

  • working to a written or verbal brief
  • developing conceptual design presentations for initial design feasibility, along with client presentations
  • developing detailed designs through space plans, colour elevations, sketches, and materials
  • producing, as part of a team, all phases of a project from concept to completion
  • producing cohesive design development packages including schedules and specifications for tender purposes
  • coordination with architects and external consultants throughout all project phases
  • review of architect’s drawings, shop drawings, and submissions to ensure design intent is achieved
  • management of materials library and collation of new fabric and material collections

Required Skills:

  • bachelor of fine arts in interior design, BSc in interior design or similar, with a minimum of two years’ post-graduate experience
  • an appreciation and understanding of the luxury interior and built environment
  • needs to have diverse skill sets – the ability to design, prepare presentations, space plan, and put together a detailed drawing set to support the senior interior design and architectural teams
  • proficient in Adobe Suite, AutoCAD and Sketch Up, other 3D rendering programmes a bonus but not essential
  • comfortable developing interior concepts into a design presentation
  • understanding of FF&E specifications
  • awareness of luxury materials and finishes
  • ability and desire to think both creatively and functionally to reach innovative design solutions
  • strong communication skills both with internal team and external consultants, clients, and suppliers
  • self-motivated with the ability to manage time to meet deadlines
  • exceptional attention to detail
  • mature, responsible, and reliable
  • positive attitude, team player with a hands-on approach
