Part 2/3 architect
at ZAP Architecture

ZAP Architecture is looking for a Part 2 architectural assistant/recently qualified Part 3 to join its team in London.

ZAP Architecture is seeking to employ talented Part 2 designers/recently qualified Part 3 architects.

We are about to embark on some very interesting and fun design-led/concept-led projects which will last approx. three to six months (then potentially ongoing after this period).

ZAP is a fresh-thinking design practice with a studio in Stratford, East London; although we are also implementing a remote working philosophy to run in tandem with our studio environment (depending on the applicants’ needs, location and creative commitments). Ideally, the candidate will be self-motivated to work remotely with one day a week in the studio minimum.

We seek to blur the boundaries between art, concepts and architecture, therefore looking for very skilled, design-focused independent thinkers. At ZAP; each team player is involved in running and designing their own design projects under the mentorship of senior architects. Our projects are often very conceptual and require high levels of self-motivation, initiative and visualisation skills. Mostly, we want quality and speed in equal measure as much of our conceptual work is under tight timelines. We don’t promote late night working or overtime but we do promote intelligent working. At a bare minimum we are looking for someone with at least one year’s office experience, rendering capabilities, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, Autocad (lumion, unreal enginer, rhino, V-ray or 3D Max an advantage) and a dedicated work ethic to meet sometimes tight deadlines. Our work straddles art, architecture, fashion, events and happenings. Fluent English and client-facing capabilities are encouraged but not essential.

We are open to remote working in some instances if briefing meetings and client meetings in London can be managed. Our roles start in February for three to six months, with rolling contracts thereafter. Only digital CV’s under 5MB please. Hard copies will be disregarded due to ZAP’s philosophy on young designers not having to print expensive paper CV’s. ZAP is an equal opportunities employer and promotes BAME and female designers applying. We want the best designers – everything else is irrelevant to us!

We advise getting your application in quickly via the apply for job button below to be in with a chance of working on our new projects.
