Finkernagel Ross are seeking a proactive PR, marketing and communications manager to help with strategic growth of the business. We need someone who has a proactive mindset and will thrive on seeking out opportunities to raise the profile of the office and our projects along with generating growth.  We see this initially as a part-time or freelance role (circa 20 hours per week) with the possibility to grow into a full-time role as the practice grows or for a person with the right experience and skillset.  We offer flexibility with regards to remote working however we would require there to be some time in spent in the office to ensure engagement with the team and immersion in the activities and culture of the practice.

Situated on Shoreditch High Street, and with over 17 years’ experience in architecture and interior design, we are an award winning, driven and design-led studio located in Shoreditch with high aspirations in response to new commissions and a general increase and variation in workload.

Role description

As well as playing a major role in contributing towards the firm’s development and growth, the PR and communications manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the day to day PR and communications activities of the practice. Experience and contacts in PR, marketing and communications to do with hospitality and high-end residential sectors preferred.

PR, marketing and communications related responsibilities:

  • design and implementation of Finkernagel Ross’s marketing strategy, communications strategies and media campaigns
  • design and maintenance of marketing materials including website, brochures, newsletters and other collateral
  • writing and editing clear and engaging content for press, marketing and social media purposes
  • liaising with journalists from local and national press to secure trade consumer and specialist coverage, both in print and digital
  • managing awards submissions, achieving awards success, securing speaking and networking opportunities
  • assisting with the organisation and delivering of any office related industry events such as London Festival of Architecture
  • actively promote Finkernagel Ross when required
  • analysis, monitoring and reporting of digital marketing data relating to the website, SEO and social media – aggressive growth in all areas desired

Business development related responsibilities:

  • assistance in formulating Finkernagel Ross’s vision and annual business development strategy in line with the annual business goals

Administrative responsibilities:

  • ensure smooth management of systems through implementation of software, automation of business systems and devising efficient procedures
  • maintaining marketing databases (CRM)

Personal attributes:

  • able to build relationships both externally and internally
  • passionate about marketing, communications and business growth
  • able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • willingness to assist and support other team members
  • ability to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
  • resilient to coping with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and effectively budget time
  • self-motivated and able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks

Qualifications/skills:

  • demonstrated ability to undertake above responsibilities ideally in both hospitality and high-end residential sectors
  • demonstrated ability to generate growth via various channels for social media, business development, PR and marketing
  • demonstrated ability for creative writing in the form of blogs, journals, awards, press releases and media packs and website copy
  • ability to liaise with digital marketing consultants with regards to SEO and traffic
  • excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and organisation skills
  • ability to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach
  • ability to use relevant software (PhotoShop, InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Airtable, Capsule CRM)
  • reports to directors

Salary and benefits package will be commensurate with experience and the part-time/freelance nature of this role. Previous experience with a design studio is not mandatory but would be looked upon favourably.
