Studio assistant

Weston Williamson and Partners is looking for a studio assistant to join its team in London.

The studio assistant will report to the studio manager and be responsible for all front of house duties as well as providing support to the studio manager and across the practice in a variety of ways looking after both our London, Manchester and Toronto studios.

This role is a great opportunity to be involved in the operational running of an international architecture practice. You will support all staff members, building relationships both internally and externally.

The ideal candidate will be organised and have a proactive can-do attitude. You must be happy to get involved in all aspects of the practice and studio life, supporting where you are needed. Training will be provided in our core management systems and support software if needed.

Core responsibilities:

  • greet visitors in person or on the telephone, answering or referring enquiries
  • preparing and ordering refreshments for visitors, meetings and events
  • manage and coordinate our studio desk booking system and meeting room bookings
  • managing incoming and outgoing mail including all couriers
  • keeping front of house, meeting spaces and kitchen area clean, tidy, presentable and safe at all times
  • ensure all spaces across the studio are always organised and tidy involving project teams to assist
  • purchasing and restocking of stationary, sundries, catering and equipment
  • coordinating and booking of travel arrangements for all staff on request
  • coordinating internal training courses for all staff members
  • assist with IT and maintenance queries

Requirements:

  • previous experience in a similar position
  • proficient in Office software: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • experience in using technology for meetings (Zoom, Teams etc.)
  • strong communication including excellent written and spoken English, interpersonal skills and attention to details
  • able to work as a team, whilst also demonstrating initiative and flexibility where necessary
  • excellent people and time management skills

Desirable:

  • an interest in architecture and design
  • knowledge of Adobe InDesign
