Job Description

Working with the Joseph Walsh Studio design team, the design technician will contribute to the realisation of studio projects from concept development through to installation. They will, ideally, have experience in  a comparable environment, be highly proficient in CAD and have the ability to produce detailed technical drawings. They will have the ability to manage complex projects and have experience in working with external suppliers and collaborators through all project phases, including concept, design development and installation.

• the ability to manage a busy workload and meet exacting deadlines
• the ability to work successfully as part of a team
• the ability to manage and communicate decision making between a design studio and workshop
• the ability to meet the technical challenges presented by complex projects and a strong attention to detail
• good communication skills in both written and spoken English

Technical skills required:

• a proficiency in CAD is essential. The Joseph Walsh Studio design team currently use a variety of 3D design software including Rhino, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

General attributes

The successful candidate will be professional and confident, possess strong problem-solving skills, be productive and flexible, have the ability to manage multiple projects and the desire to learn. They should be available to travel if required. Full clean driving licence is essential.
