John Wardle Architects is seeking a design architect to join its team in Melbourne or Sydney, Australia.
John Wardle Architects (JWA) is a highly creative design practice recognised for the quality of its award-winning, finely detailed projects. Our portfolio spans major university, school, high end private residential, multi-residential and commercial office and retail projects, strategic master planning and urban design. Working across Australia and internationally from our studios in Melbourne and Sydney, we are ‘two studios with one philosophy’. Design architect
If you are a talented designer that has a visa to work in Australia or planning on returning to Melbourne or Sydney, then we have an exciting opportunity for you to become part of our collaborative team and work on a range of significant projects, working alongside the Partners of the practice.
Role:
- collaborate closely with the design directors in developing the design intent taking the lead in the conception of ideas
- work with a broad range of teams to facilitate or prepare imagery to communicate the design intent
- prepare analytical massing studies to support a project brief
- develop concepts through iterative modelling
- prepare for and lead client presentations
- mentor team members, share knowledge and contribute to the studio culture
Key experience:
- at least five plus years’ experience in working within a design role in a design led practice
- high attention to detail with a curious approach to design
- excellent technical knowledge
- hands on software skills, such as Rhino, 3DS Max or Revit
- ability to lead and collaborate with others
- exceptional communication and collaboration skills in a team environment
