Burgess Architects is hiring an architect to join its practice in London.
Burgess Architects is looking for an inquisitive and enthusiastic architect with at least one years’ post-Part 3 experience to join its busy design-led practice in Kennington, with a focus on sustainability and heritage.

Your responsibilities:
- day-to-day responsibility for one large project or two/three smaller projects
- proactively manage your projects, setting deadlines and coordinating the design
- monitoring compliance and project risks
- work effectively with other colleagues to achieve the best results for our projects
- liaise with consultants and contractors as required, report to the client
- collaborate on design discussions on all office projects
- develop a specialism and become the office lead in anything be it social media, sustainable services or the perfect toastie
- interest and commitment to developing the practice outlook and culture as we grow
The candidate will have the ready support from the principal and the rest of the team in carrying out the above responsibilities.
Your skills and experience:
- at least one year of experience in UK post Part 3 on small scale/domestic projects for RIBA stage 4 to 5
- design-focused with passion for detailing and materiality
- experience of managing jobs on-site, liaising with contractors and the contract administration processes
- software in use: Vectorworks, SketchUp, InDesign, Photoshop, Word, Excel

- excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
- eligible to work in the UK
Salary commensurate with experience. Profit share scheme after two years.
