London, UK
Senior interior designer
at Nash Baker Architects

Nash Baker is looking for a senior interior designer to join its team in London.

At Nash Baker, we believe the most beautiful homes come from genuine collaboration between architecture and interior design.

We already work closely with exceptional interior designers and see what that different perspective brings to our projects. Now, we want to bring that thinking into the studio every day.

We’re looking for a talented and ambitious Senior Interior Designer to help shape and grow our interior design offering and become an integral part of our wider design culture.

About us

Nash Baker Architects is a London studio working on complex, high-value residential projects for ambitious clients who expect both beautiful design and the calm, careful delivery to match. That’s our promise to them: beautiful homes, carefully delivered.

We’re a collaborative studio where good ideas aren’t defined by job title or discipline. We care about the detail, enjoy working through difficult design problems together and want someone who will bring their own perspective to that conversation.

The opportunity

This isn’t a seat in an established interiors team; it’s the chance to build one. You’ll be the interiors specialist within a talented architectural studio, working closely with our directors and design team, with the backing of the practice behind you rather than out on your own.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Interior Designer, perhaps already operating close to Associate level: still a hands-on designer who loves the work, but looking for more ownership, responsibility and influence. Get this right, and there’s a clear path to leading Nash Baker’s interiors offering and building a team around you as it grows.

On some projects, you’ll lead the interior design service directly. On others, you’ll bring your expertise to our architectural work or collaborate with an external interior designer. Either way, we want your voice in the room from the beginning, bringing a different perspective, challenging our thinking and helping us make our projects even better.

The role

You will:

  • lead interior design from concept to completion, owning the design, technical development and delivery of your projects
  • work alongside our architects from the earliest stages so architecture and interiors develop as one idea
  • develop concepts through mood boards, sketches, 3D visualisation, materials and samples
  • lead FF&E specification, scheduling, procurement and installation
  • coordinate consultants, suppliers and makers, drawing on your knowledge of materials, furniture, lighting and bespoke joinery
  • help develop our interiors processes, resources and design culture as the offering grows

What you’ll bring:

  • at least six years’ relevant professional experience and a compelling high-end residential portfolio
  • a strong design point of view combined with the technical ability to deliver it
  • excellent knowledge of materials, finishes, FF&E and bespoke joinery
  • confidence presenting to private clients and communicating the thinking behind your designs
  • strong visual communication skills across sketches, mood boards, 3D and other media
  • a collaborative approach and the confidence to lead and work closely with others
  • a strong supplier and maker network, together with the curiosity to keep discovering new ones
  • a willingness to work with the tools we use across the studio: Vectorworks, Affinity, SketchUp and increasingly AI tools as part of the design process

Most importantly, you’ll still be close to the work, designing, drawing, presenting and delivering projects yourself, while being ready to take the next step into greater ownership and leadership.

What’s on offer:

  • £50,000 to £65,000, depending on experience
  • the chance to build, and in time lead, Nash Baker’s interiors offering
  • enhanced maternity and paternity packages after two years’ service
  • the studio closes between Christmas and New Year on full pay, around three additional days on top of your annual leave
  • enhanced sick pay, inclusive of statutory sick pay
  • contributory pension, Westfield Health cashback plan and an employee assistance programme
  • CPD, supplier visits and trade fairs treated as part of the job

How to apply

We don’t ask for a CV at the first stage. Instead, we’d like to get a sense of your work, how you think and how you communicate.

Our online application takes around 20–25 minutes and asks for your portfolio, some brief background information, five short written responses and a 90-second voice note about a room you’ve designed, presented as though you were talking us through it as a client.
