OMA is seeking a HR officer to join its team in Rotterdam.
OMA is an international practice operating within the traditional boundaries of architecture and urbanism. We work on a wide range of research and design projects across the world, and have offices in Rotterdam, New York and Hong Kong. Our staff is comprised of creative staff (principally architects) and supportive services, which includes an HR and recruitment team who resource our offices worldwide.
OMA is looking for an experienced HR officer to join our human resources team on a full time basis. This position is for an initial 12 month period, with longer term prospects.
While the human resources department operates from our head office in Rotterdam, OMA’s employees are located across Rotterdam, New York, Hong Kong and Sydney. The HR officer is the contact point for staff in our international offices, and will work with the rest of the HR team to manage employee relations and all aspects of the employee lifecycle. In this role you will arrange, coordinate and provide advice on the full range of HR and employment matters: contracts, benefits and salary administration, expatriate immigration and relocation procedures, health and safety policies and more.
This role requires someone who thrives in a creative and international environment that is fast-paced and results oriented. The ideal candidate will have experience in an HR generalist role, with a deep understanding of HR processes, sound knowledge of employment law and the ability to engage and communicate effectively within all layers of the organisation.

Responsibilities:
- ensure the implementation and application of HR procedures, processes, policies, best practices; and systems in alignment with HR directives
- provide employee support throughout the employee lifecycle
- responsible for onboarding new employees, and offboarding and exit interviews of departing employees
- manage employee database and prepare reports
- assist with budget monitoring and payroll
- keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices
- perform other related duties as assigned
The successful candidate will have:
- bachelor’s degree in HRM, business management or equivalent experience
- minimum two years of experience in an HR function, preferably within an international office working in the built environment or other creative industry
- good knowledge of key HR processes, including roles and responsibilities across the entire HR lifecycle
- sound knowledge of employment law and best HR practices
- working knowledge of immigration and visa procedures in the Netherlands, the USA, Hong Kong and/ or Australia is an advantage
- excellent command of the English language – written and spoken (Dutch and/ or other languages are an asset)
- proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Outlook and Excel)
- good organisational skills, eye for detail and the ability to meet project deadlines
- capable of maintaining confidential information and matters with discretion
- thrive in a fast-paced environment where agility is required
