Tala has an opportunity for a visual merchandise and exhibition design manager at its growing studio in London.

The role:

Tala is looking for an ambitious and creative design professional who enjoys working in fast paced, hands on, creative environment and loves a challenge. The role will vary from technical work creating design packs and project management through to client relationship management.

The ideal candidate will have had experience working in an architect or design firm and be familiar with systems in place to design, communicate and deliver a worldwide schedule of exhibitions and retail displays. There will also be an opportunity to get involved in product design and work at a variety of scales: from a light source to a large exhibition. The goal is to translate marketing strategies into innovative and impressive designs that will command the attention of people in a diverse mix of environments.

Responsibilities:

– develop, deliver and communicate visual concepts and strategies to promote Tala at the retail, project and exhibition level
– work directly with Tala’s growing retail clients to implement new point of display (POD) designs
– manage Tala’s exhibition display programs (x6 global exhibitions a year)
– work within the design team to create exciting and on-brand displays for new product launches
– work closely with the marketing team on exhibition strategy and execution
– research and implement new production and assembly techniques and materials

Requirements:

– 2D and 3D CAD (Vectorworks and Rhino)
– rapid rendering abilities
– good ability to detail and understand connections
– competent with basic structural/loading calculations
– ability to physically deliver retail display and exhibition stands – at times this can be a hands on role
– impeccable organisation and time management skills
– strategic planning and project management
– confident negotiation skills
– a logical, analytical and creative approach to problem solving
– collaborative/fast learner
– have a strong visual awareness and an eye for detail
– committed team player with strong communication, and presentation skills
– organisation and confidence to implement and enforce a companywide design information filing
– full driving license
– extra languages (French, German, Spanish a plus)
