Interiors boutique assistant manager

Mad Atelier is seeking an interiors boutique assistant manager to join its team in London.
We are Mad Atelier, an interior design, art and lifestyle store located in Lower Clapton, Hackney. We curate an eclectic mix of furniture and objects by recognised designers, established manufacturers as well as emerging talents. We have an exciting new position at Mad Atelier.
We are looking for a part time assistant manager for four days per week including weekends. The ideal candidate will be an efficient and well organised multitasker and must have experience in a retail environment and ideally within the design field. We are looking for a team player happy to roll up their sleeves, with a very high attention to detail and the ability to self-manage and organise.
Requirements:
- managing customer enquiries both in-store and online via email and phone
- front of house, ensuring a smooth transaction with taking payments at the counter
- overseeing the main info email, organising labels according to the subject of each email received in the inbox
- maintaining website (uploading new products, updating existing products, maintaining the visual identity of our homepage and collections)
- checking inventory levels both online and in the stock room
- maintaining the showroom’s environment ensuring displays are attractive, clean and the prices displayed are correct
- installing and mounting small furniture and lighting in the showroom (minor drilling and painting work is required, you need to be confident with using tools)
- receiving and checking deliveries of goods and organising them in the stockroom
- preparing orders and taking them to post office when required
- designing price labels, postcards, flyers and posters when required
- scheduling and maintaining social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest)
- updating Google My Business with uploading often images from the shop
- updating our contact list on a weekly basis
- monitoring the stock levels of our wine range and the display of the wine kiosk
The ideal candidate should have:
- an enthusiasm for Mediterranean style interiors as well as contemporary design
- exceptional customer service skills
- strong initiative and being able to multi-tasking
- proven track record of sales excellence within a team
- strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- flexibility in working on a specified rota including weekends
- at minimum: entry-level to middleweight industry retail experience is required (experience in design oriented environment is an advantage)
- strong visual merchandising skills
Skills:
- confident in working with MacOS
- proficient skills in Adobe Creative Suit (mainly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
- SketchUp knowledge is welcome
- Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- familiar with Shopify (e-commerce software)
- familiar with Mailchimp (newsletter editor)
- good knowledge of Social Media (Facebook and Instagram) and being familiar with Later (Social media planner)
- excellent English skills both spoken and written
