Civic Engineers is hiring a business administrator to join its team in London.
Scope of the role
We are seeking a friendly and personable business administrator for our London studio to assist and support the studio manager, directors and the team with general administration and front of house duties.
You will be an organised, pro-active person with an eye for detail and a quality driven approach. Previous experience in administration within the construction industry and and a genuine interest in design and the built environment will be an advantage but is not essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of our teams and clients. You will possess all usual office competencies and front of house sensibilities. As the first point of contact for our clients and guests, you must be hospitable and able to promote a good atmosphere at all times.
The role would suit a candidate wishing to learn or development their skills in order to forge career as a admin professional.
This is a full time role and working hours are 8am to 4.30pm.
Day-to-day task and expectations
General duties (shared):
- meet and greet clients/visitors
- setting up for meetings and events (including refreshments and lunch requirements)
- meeting room bookings (including preparation of virtual meetings)
- printing (including offsite printing) and scanning
- answering phones
- processing and distributing post
- stationery orders
- office shop, errands and ordering office supplies
- keeping the studio in good order
- assisting with Studio events
- co-ordination of IT issues with the IT Manager
- occasional support to central administration teams such as finance.
- general ad hoc administration and support as required

Experience/qualifications required:
- ideally, two years’ experience in a similar role within the construction industry
