TateHindle is hiring a senior urban designer to join its team in London.
TateHindle is a practice of architects and urbanists, with a vision for evolving every place we engage with for the better. We are an EOT and we continue to build on the expertise, spirit and skills we have now shared as a practice for over a generation.
We are looking for a talented, motivated, and committed senior urban designer to join our studio as part of a growing masterplanning team, carving out a new role within the practice.
The ideal candidate will have approximately eight to ten years’ experience in either architecture, landscape architecture or urban design with a flair for design, coupled with ambition and energy, and an ability to communicate and collaborate effectively to all levels.
This position is perfect for someone looking to broaden their experience. Working closely with the sector lead, you will be involved in a range of high-profile and forward-thinking masterplanning projects.
Our projects range from city scale and town centres through to sustainable urban extensions and free-standing new settlements. We are also regularly engaged in preparing design guidance and vision documents for a range of clients and stakeholders.
The right candidate should meet the below criteria:
- collaborative approach to design
- confident in client-facing environments and stakeholder/public engagement
- ability to manage internal and consultant teams/coordinate information on several projects
- experience at all project scales; from strategic masterplanning to individual plot layouts
- the ability to work on all aspects of a project; whether managing, CAD drawing, 3D modelling, sketching, or compiling and writing reports/presentations
- excellent sketching ability
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- experience of preparing outline and detailed planning applications
- experience of preparing design codes
- experience with Microstation and/or Revit would be preferred
