Robert Rhodes Architecture + Interiors seeks a Part 3 architect with high-end residential experience to join its team in London.
Robert Rhodes Architecture + Interiors is an up-and-coming, design-focused architecture practice, specialising in high quality custom residential and heritage projects. We are motivated by our love of old buildings and our commitment to creating simple, authentic and beautiful places and things.
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, passionate and professional architect to join our studio as a project architect. Here you will be given the space to run your own projects with guidance, direction and assistance from the others in the studio.
You will need self-motivation, self-confidence, calm nature and common sense. You will also need to be well organised, and able to communicate clearly and compellingly with your own clients, consultants and contractors.
Essential skills/experience:
- ARB registration
- demonstrable experience with UK renovation/extension projects at RIBA Stages 4 and 5
- exemplary design and technical detailing skills
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- a calm, measured and diplomatic demeanour
- proficiency with AutoCAD LT, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign and Excel
- working knowledge of the obligations of RIBA professional services contracts
- working knowledge of RIBA and JCT building contracts and demonstrable experience in their successful administration
- working knowledge of UK planning policy and procedure
- working knowledge of building regulations and CDM requirements; particularly with domestic projects
Responsibilities:
- producing and coordinating clear, simple, buildable and concise design information
- managing consultants and furthering positive working relationships within the profession
- administrating building contracts effectively while maintaining good relationships with clients and contractors
- monitoring and achieving project goals, specifically regarding quality, time and cost
- helping to improve practice procedures and standards
- contributing to the future development of the practice
Starting salary c.£40,000, commensurate with experience and aptitude.
