Weiss Turkus Projects is looking for a junior designer to join its team in New York, USA.
We are currently seeking a design assistant to work directly with both the architecture and interior design principals to generate and implement designs. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated, identifying and solving problems to keep the project moving smoothly. They should be familiar with the interior design process, knowing how to convey ideas through drawing with a keen attention to detail, and enhancing those ideas through material selection.
Responsibilities include creating architectural site surveys and drawing sets, drawing existing conditions of any given site, furniture and fabric sourcing, creating design presentations, creating and maintaining a project budget, vendor coordination, purchasing and tracking furniture orders, as well as assisting principals in the design and documentation of all custom millwork and furniture.
An ideal candidate should have a passion for residential interior design, possess a willingness to contribute creatively to our wide variety of projects, and be patiently open to the ever-shifting landscape of what we do.
Job requirements: professional degree in architecture, interior architecture or interior design. Minimum one to two years experience in residential design at a design firm.
Applicant to have strong knowledge of the following programs: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop), 3D modelling (Rhino preferred) and rendering (V-Ray preferred).
