Morgan is hiring a furniture designer to join its team in Southbourne, UK.
We are looking for a furniture/industrial designer to join our Morgan Studio team. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to join a design-led manufacturer and contribute to the design and development of new collections for the hospitality, cruise and workplace markets.
The role
The role is ideal for a creative, passionate designer who is interested in creating innovative and original collections for our target markets. The Morgan Studio team of designers work as a design team to launch new collections and also work with freelance designers commissioned to design product for Morgan. The role is based at Morgan’s factory and headquarters in Southbourne, near Chichester and requires the candidate to work from this site. The role requires good design and product development ability and to be responsible for the launch of product from prototype into production. This includes preparing and issuing all drawings and specifications for new collections and controlling the prototyping process. It also requires designing and organising the product launch at the London showroom or at exhibitions.
The candidate
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, a positive team member and will have good technical and organisational skills. They will have an understanding of the interiors market and new design trends and be passionate about designing original product. Good CAD drawing skills, using Solidworks, attention to detail and the ability to produce clear manufacturing drawings are all essential. Ideally three plus years’ of industry experience is required.
