Neal Jones Furniture is hiring a head of design to join its team remotely or in Lancaster, UK.
Neal Jones Furniture has built an outstanding reputation for creating bespoke furniture for some of the most prestigious properties, clients and super yachts across the globe. Our furniture is hand built in the United Kingdom by the very best craftsmen using only the finest materials.
As head of design, the candidate will use their experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to translate initial design concepts to unique visual drawings, renderings, 3D graphics and animations. The head of design will report to the creative director whilst working with our head of operations to ensure key details are met and should be prepared to remain actively involved in a project through the manufacturing process.
The role will encompass the following:
- execute all visual design stages through to completion by crafting visuals, hand sketches and renders for prospective and live projects. These visuals may include 3D models, animations and hand sketches
- having a flexible way of working by presenting visuals/designs/ renders to a variety of audiences such as internal stakeholders, workshops, super yacht exterior designers and residential interior designers
- liaising and working closely with the creative director and founder on design briefs and new ranges as well as attending sales meetings to draw initial sketches
- liaising with the marketing department to provide assets for brochure and social media material
Essential experience:
- proficiency with CAD software and a strong interest in 2D and 3D design and renderings
- strong creative and artistic drawing ability
- educated to degree level in a relevant design or artistic field and/or a versatile portfolio with elegant product design examples
- knowledge of and a passion for bespoke furniture making and a mindfulness of manufacturing when creating a design
