Kersting Architecture is looking for a project architect to join its team in North Carolina, USA.
Established in 1995, Kersting Architecture is a boutique firm focused on designing and executing construction of unique, site specific, high quality custom architecture. We specialize in high-end custom residential architecture as well as multi-family, hospitality (beach clubs and clubhouses) and specific (design oriented) commercial, office, and cultural buildings and spaces. Our firm has won multiple design awards and is published frequently on a local and national level. Kersting Architecture has an expanding regional presence with both current and completed projects throughout North Carolina. We are seeking resourceful and positive individuals who are passionate about the architectural profession with a motivation to excel in construction detailing and the production of complete construction documents. The candidate for this position will work closely with office principals through all phases of design and construction administration services. Our office culture is very open with all individuals participating in a multitude of projects. Direct interaction with clients and contractors will happen on a very regular basis. Qualifications:
- strong design sensibility and a commitment to the realization of well-crafted, thoughtful architecture
- professional degree in architecture (five year degree or master’s degree) required
- five to seven years of experience working in an architectural firm
- proficiency using Revit and AutoCAD
- competence in SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), MS Office
- construction experience is a plus
- conscientious, passionate, agile, detail oriented, with a desire to take on multiple responsibilities
- demonstrated technical competence in residential architecture
- experience showing an ability to manage small to medium size architectural projects including the preparation of design and construction documents, specifications, bidding documents and construction administration duties
- excellent written and verbal communications skills
- ability to multi-task and ‘shift gears’ quickly
- participation in design discussions and charettes
- a good sense of humor and music appreciation is a plus.
- architecture license preferred; candidates on licensure track will be considered

- salary commensurate with qualifications and experience ($60,000/year – $85,000/year based on experience and expertise)
