Indian Ocean has an opportunity for a showroom manager to join its team in London.
Luxury outdoor furniture specialist Indian Ocean is recruiting a dynamic showroom manager to run its Balham flagship store. This is an exciting role for an experienced manager with ambition, enthusiasm and an appreciation of design. You must have a proven management track record within the luxury high-end furniture or design industry of at least seven years with strong ability to communicate, execute sales successfully as well as managing a team.
Role summary
The primary role of the store manager is to maximise sales and to plan and proactively manage all store operations for the Balham flagship showroom. You will be responsible for providing world class service, demonstrating exceptional product knowledge and building quality client relationships, both retail and trade as well as leading your team.
Reporting to the managing director, you will manage the organisation and smooth running of the Showroom in the following areas:
Main specific responsibilities:
- maximising sales by providing knowledgeable, professional and efficient service to customers visiting or contacting the showroom and through their entire purchase process with accountability for efficient administration of company procedures
- managing, planning and leading the sales team; assigning duties and staff responsibilities; planning staff rotas, cover and training
- managing customer service staff and policies to ensure positive outcomes
- managing design and planning service and staff
- ensure displays reflect stock availability and constantly strive to increase sales by planning and managing the displays to meet the needs of the business
- developing marketing initiatives with the managing director
- reviewing stock, sales and activity and other performance data to measure achievement to determine areas needing improvement. Provide a weekly sales and activity report to the managing director
- accountability for the implementation of high store standards and merchandising
- accountability for the general maintenance of the store and related property issues
- accountability for health and safety of the store for both staff and visitors
- accountability for implementing the annual stock take and all stock movements in and out of the store
You must have:
- experience in the retail of furniture/luxury/design sector of minimum seven years
- proven ability to juggle multiple management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
- excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities
- strong verbal and written communication skills and you must be completely IT literate
- BA degree in business administration or relevant design field
