The design studio axxxis is hiring an industrial designer/furniture designer to join its team in Vienna, Austria.
axxxis is a multidisciplinary design studio in Vienna with a motivated, dynamic team developing innovative design solutions for different needs and demands. With a focus on product design, our studio covers a range of typologies from furniture to accessories and textiles. As a design studio, we combine design expertise and technical expertise with the goal of developing customer-focused and branded products from sketch to store.
Key responsibilities
To strengthen our furniture design team, axxxis is looking for trained industrial designers with know-how in the development of furniture and a feel for future trends and innovative approaches.
Responsibilities:
- new development of products and supervision of multiple projects simultaneously
- independent product development from the first concept to sample presentation and market launch
- close cooperation with the product management and our international network of suppliers
- designing and developing products for a broad portfolio, from sideboards and upholstered furniture to complete bedroom programs, from luxury to affordable design items
- team-oriented collaboration with our international and interdisciplinary design team
- willingness to travel (e.g. trade shows, manufacturer visits)
Requirements:
- successfully completed studies in the field of interior, product and/or industrial design
- work experience and internships are of advantage, but not a prerequisite
- expertise in using Adobe Creative Cloud as well as 3D design programs and render softwares (Rhino, V-Ray advantageous)
- good sense of proportion and harmonious composition of entire product families
- know-how of different materials, their properties and manufacturing techniques
- constructive understanding and industry-oriented implementation
- high degree of self-initiative, solution-oriented approach and reliable, punctual way of working
- motivated by our steep learning curve, opportunities for further training and a lot of practical experience
- German required (level B1/B2)
