Part 2 architectural assistant
at Formed Architects & Designers

Formed Architects is looking for a motivated Part 2 architectural assistant to join its team in London.

We are focused on growing rapidly and want the right people in the team to get us there.

The role

Work is fast paced, hands on and you will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects of varying scales whilst working towards your case study for qualification should this be something that you are looking to pursue.

You will be involved in new build designs, private homes, alterations, restorations, and conversions and listed buildings from the earliest stages right through to tender.

Responsibilities:

  • cooperate and liaise with construction professionals to ensure the designs are in line with quality, safety and legislation requirements
  • compile project specifications
  • develop ideas keeping in mind client’s needs, building’s usage, and environmental impact
  • produce detail digital drawings and make the necessary amendments/corrections
  • ensure that all works are both prepared and carried out following current UK planning and building regulation codes and guidelines
  • assist with day to day running of projects and visiting site

Qualifications and skills requirements

Qualifications and skills requirements:

  • UK university architectural degree and RIBA part 2 qualification
  • a minimum of one to two years’ of industry experience within a UK based architectural practice
  • proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Revit and Microsoft Office is required. Your AutoCAD skills will be tested early on in our recruitment process via an online test
  • fluent in English, impeccable grammar and punctuation
  • great interpersonal and communication skills
  • good time-management skills
  • highly organised and a can-do attitude
  • a drive to problem solve and working towards meeting deadlines
  • target-driven – you will be set targets throughout your induction process and performance will be measured and rewarded
  • you will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team and you will be expected to think for yourself
  • committed to your own self development
  • demonstratable experience working in the residential sector is preferred.
  • attention to detail, both visual and written

Your salary will be reflective of your experience but for a suitable candidate we would expect the salary to be upwards of £28k.
