In the last decade, there has been an exponential growth in the mark for digital tools to help creators create storefronts, market to their audience, and deliver product. Platforms like Shopify, Stripe and Flexport have become household names in the space. Despite this industry acceleration, the actual process of sourcing product has not kept up with this rate of change.

Launching new ideas remains a barrier for emerging brands: searching for suppliers, vetting for quality, choosing products, negotiating price, and handling logistics. The ability to source and produce quality product is often the barrier between a visionary creator and a game-changing brand.

Badaboom solves this problem by providing an end-to-end supply chain platform and experience enabling creators to design, manufacture, and launch private label products in minutes, instead of months.

Role

Badaboom is looking for a product/industrial designer to join our team, working alongside our in-house product category experts. You will experience and gain expertise in multiple areas of product and packaging, designing for our clients across categories including eyewear, bags, watches, jewellery, skincare and cosmetics.

Responsibilities:

• intuitively interpreting client briefs and coming up with inventive and original ideas that take into account client expectations, audience, and business context
• design development – executing world-class, exceptional creative content
• commercial awareness – managing the scope and budget of projects and ensuring these are respected throughout the creative process
• presentation – being comfortable presenting to clients articulately and logically, with clear and authoritative rationale (training will be given where necessary)
• collaborating with suppliers – liaising with external suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness of materials and services provided
• industry knowledge – keeping abreast of industry thinking and trends

Requirements:

• five plus years’ of professional experience in design services, ideally in product and industrial design
• bachelor’s degree or demonstrable expertise in industrial design or a similar relevant field
• you can manage multiple work-streams with the ability to prioritise tasks in order of impact and importance
• you are familiar with working in early stage product development or startup environments
• you are self-motivated and self-managing, with strong organisational skills
• you have business proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and largely asynchronous work environment
• you have an inclination towards communication, inclusion, and transparency
• you have a sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
• you are a critical thinker, problem solver, and a team player
• you have exceptional time-management skills
• you show great communication, interpersonal and networking skills
• any additional training or certificate will be considered an advantage
