Mid-weight FF&E interior designer
at LXA
LXA is seeking a mid-weight FF&E interior designer to join its team in London.
LXA are looking for a mid-weight designer to join our creative team who has a passion and flair for FF&E.
Their role will be to assist and develop design from concept to completion.
They will work alongside the senior team on several projects in the hospitality, F&B, and education sectors.
Responsibilities:
- FF&E space planning
- produce mood boards, sketches, and plans and order client samples
- put together client presentations
- create full project costing schedules and budgets
- source FF&E, working with project designers to select or design all FF&E items ensuring that items are appropriate, meet the brief and budget, and are fit for purpose
- assist in the design for bespoke joinery and FF&E. Reviewing supplier technical drawings prior to manufacture with the assistance of the senior team
- work with contractors and suppliers to ensure the design and quality are executed as per the specification and to the highest standard
- some FF&E procurement may be required
- assist on-site during the final stages of projects, ensuring that all FF&E and styling requirements are met
- generate snagging reports for FFE items and ensure follow-through
- providing support to the senior team to ensure that project concept is delivered
- able to rationalise design to meet project cost targets, whilst maintaining design integrity
- maintain up-to-date documentation of all activities
What we are looking for in you:

- excellent verbal/written communication and good command of the English language
- problem solving skills
- strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- able to work in an unsupervised capacity
- excellent interpersonal skills, particularly when building relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers
- proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
- good knowledge of construction methodology, building regulations codes, and DDA requirements would be helpful but not essential
- good knowledge of materials
- good supplier knowledge
- experience in FF&E procurement advantageous
