Senior architect/project lead
at SWAP
SWAP is hiring a senior architect/project lead to join its team in London.
SWAP Architects is a design-led practice committed to redefining urban spaces to enhance community connections. We work across a range of residential, mixed-use, and commercial projects, balancing design ambition with technical requirements. As our team grows, we are looking for a talented, experienced and driven qualified Architect with a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience to join our dynamic and growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of working on large-scale residential projects, particularly within the London context, and a working understanding of planning policy, building regulations, and relevant design codes.
Key responsibilities:
- lead and contribute to the design and delivery of large residential developments from concept to planning submission
- prepare and coordinate high-quality design and planning application documents
- ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, London Plan policies, and local authority design codes
- liaise confidently with clients, consultants, planning officers and other stakeholders
- contribute to design reviews and internal quality assurance processes
Requirements:
- RIBA Part 3 qualified and registered with the ARB
- minimum five years’ experience in architectural practice, with a proven track record in residential design
- demonstrable experience in leading or contributing to planning applications for large-scale residential schemes
- strong knowledge of UK planning policy, residential best-practice and design guidance, and building regulations
- excellent design and presentation skills using BIM software (ArchiCAD or Revit), Adobe Creative Suite, and preferably working knowledge of Rhino
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- self-motivated, organised, and able to manage deadlines across multiple projects
