Suna Interior Design are looking for a talented senior interior designer to join its team in London.

Senior interior designer –residential amenities and marketing suites

We are an award-winning London based boutique design agency, providing creative interior design services for property developers in both the commercial and residential sectors.

We’re looking for a candidate to join our residential amenities and marketing suite team, the position would be well suited to a designer with a background in marketing suites, retail, workplace or public amenity space design.

The right candidate will be:

At Suna we benefit from working on an exciting range of projects and our team employ a multitude of skills to take the designs from concept through to completion. We love to see our projects installed and are incredibly hands on throughout the whole design process.

As a senior interior designer, you would be working with our established team and reporting in to the lead designer. We are looking for a candidate who can bring interesting and creative ideas to their designs, someone who can work collaboratively and with proven experience managing their own projects. The role of the senior works closely with the Lead to support and guide the rest of the team.

This position is based at our office in London SW19, with the opportunity for flexible working from home. Our project sites are located across London and the Southeast

Responsibilities

Design and creativity:

  • demonstrate a passion for design, consistently approaching projects with desire for innovation
  • researching and gathering information and design insight relating to the project
  • space planning of marketing suites, concierges and communal areas
  • sourcing and specifying materials and products according to set budgets
  • understanding clients’ needs and the needs of the people using the building, developing design concepts in consultation with the client and helping establish final briefs
  • research, create, prepare and present concepts and mood boards
  • keeping up to date with new developments and design trends in the design industry
  • strong knowledge of suppliers across a wide budget range.

Project management:

  • capable of managing multiple projects at different stages simultaneously
  • ensuring all projects follow Suna’s internal processes and procedures
  • preparing drawings including plans, elevations, details and 3D sketches, including rendered visuals for final presentation
  • able to co-ordinate multiple clients, delegate and oversee tasks to team members throughout each stage of the design and installation process, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery
  • working closely with the client in-house team and subcontractors to include (but not limited to) quantity surveyors, contractors, architects and marketing personnel to complete projects successfully
  • forming strong relationships with a multitude of suppliers and sub-contractors
  • good understanding of budgeting with the ability to value engineer when required
  • responsible for upholding high standards across all projects and managing quality control

Client relationships:

  • involved in developing initial ideas and acquiring key information about potential projects, discussing requirements in detail with clients
  • pitching and presenting designs directly to clients and stakeholders
  • attending design meetings virtually and in person
  • leading handovers and walk throughs with clients, managing the feedback and snagging requirements
  • confident in representing all areas of the business through direct client communication

Team coordination:

  • supporting junior members of the team from design stage through to install, demonstrating experience and collaborative problem solving
  • holding presentation run throughs with the design team
  • working closely with lead designer to have a consistent awareness of ongoing projects, and where support may be required
  • being available to support the wider Suna team

Business development:

  • working with directors and senior management team to support and help implement business values
  • work closely with lead and senior management team to review and improve internal policies and procedures based on experience, project outcomes and industry/regulatory requirements

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • fluent in AutoCAD
  • fluent in SketchUp and ideally Podium rendering or knowledge of basic rendering programmes
  • fluent in Adobe Suite, in particular Photoshop and InDesign Good technical and detailing skills
  • basic knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction methods within the residential sector
  • proactive in identifying issues or problems
  • ability to quickly absorb company standards and procedures
