Natural Building Systems is seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant/recently qualified architect to join its team in Norfolk, UK.

Term of employment: full-time

Remuneration: subject to experience and in line with RIBA salary guidelines

Start date: as soon as possible/1 September

We are looking for a talented Part 2 architectural assistant or recently qualified architect with a passion for sustainable design to join our team, working on the development of an innovative range of buildings that showcase the versatility of our new integrated low-carbon modular construction system. We would offer an excellent all-rounded experience from initial conceptual design, to space planning, technical detailing and construction. We are based near Diss, Norfolk but are open to flexible and remote working arrangements. However, the design and workshop team work hand-in-hand; so the ability to commute to the workshop occasionally is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • working closely with the design and workshop teams through all RIBA work stages to manage a range of building projects, to deliver varying building typologies and drawing packages using our integrated low carbon modular construction system
  • collaborating with leading experts in the research and development of innovative modular construction techniques and materials
  • contributing to the development of graphic renders, models, web content and promotional materials

Requirements

We are looking for someone to be involved across all aspects of our growing company and become an integral member of our team:

  • excellent design, detailing and technical skills
  • highly proficient in AutoCAD,SketchUp, Rhino and Revit. Experience in parametric design preferable
  • a good communicator who can liaise directly with clients, stakeholders and developers
  • strong project management skills and generally well organised
  • ability to travel to and work from our office nearDiss when necessary
  • motivated by the prospect of joining a pioneering early-stage company.

We would like someone who is prepared to leap in, be part of the team and help out where necessary. We don’t expect someone to know everything, but a commitment to sustainability, enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
