Charlotte Kingsnorth is seeking a maker/artist assistant to join its team in London.
Charlotte Kingsnorth is a design studio that makes objects, furniture artworks and installations for private and public collections worldwide.
This is a hard-working but playful studio looking for a positive and dedicated person to join as Charlotte’s full time assistant. The role will initially be for six months, with the aim to stay on. She is looking to build a team of artists and makers who enjoy challenging jobs and care about getting it right.
Think about applying if you are a skilled maker with a good sense of intuition; someone who can think creatively to solve problems, who is willing to learn Charlotte’s approach quickly while also bringing in their own knowledge and skills. You may have trained as an upholsterer or a pattern maker or seamstress. Your job will be to assist with making the works, which will include foam sculpting, sewing and pattern cutting as well as light wood work and repairs, fabric research and errands. Looking for an experienced maker.
Must have:
- excellent sewing machine skills
- pattern making
- hand sewing
- textile knowledge
Willing to learn:
- wood working skills for basic furniture repairs
- general workshop machinery
Would be great if:
- good carpentry skills
- Rhino knowledge
Pay reviewed depending on experience (pro rata).
