Antiques manager
at Max Rollitt

Max Rollitt is seeking an antiques manager to join its team in Hampshire, UK.

Max Rollitt has an exciting opportunity for an antiques manager to join a small, dynamic team working within the context of interiors, bespoke furniture design and antiques.

You will have at least three years’ industry experience working in a similar context and have a passion for antiques, as well as being highly organised in overseeing the end-to-end journey of an antique from acquisition to sale.

You will be a critical member of the team working closely with Max, managing our ever-changing stock and inventory system, working with the interiors team on assigning antiques for key projects and managing the movement of antiques from auction houses to restorers, through to their final destination with our clients.

We need someone who can multi-task whilst having an excellent eye for detail and quality and an ability to build rapport with whole host of people from restorers, to private interiors clients.

Max Rollitt is a leading interior designer, furniture designer and antiques dealer based only one hour from London in the beautiful Hampshire countryside near to Winchester. The role would be based at Yavington Barn offices and showroom.

“All the best dealers have their own style, and Max Rollitt’s is distinctive. He has an infallible eye for line and proportion, a bold sense of scale, and a leaning towards furnishings that are classical and architectural. ‘Authenticity and craftsmanship are important,’ he says, ‘but so are less quantifiable qualities such as originality, purity of line, and balance. Above all, a piece of furniture should be beautiful.’ Which is why, although he may cast a critical eye over thousands of items every week, he is likely only to buy two or three of them”.
