Engagement and community coordinator

Karakusevic Carson Architects is seeking an engagement and community coordinator to join its team in London.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our engagement team as engagement and community coordinator. The role is central to the delivery and success of our engagement programmes with residents, community members and local organisations across London.
Working alongside the engagement manager, as well as project teams studio wide, this role is ideally suited for an architecture graduate (Part 1 and Part 2) interested in exploring alternative roles within architecture practice, and who may have previous experience with community work.
Our programmes includes wide ranging activities that respond to the needs of each community and help to inform the wider design process. These include: weekend and evening consultation events and projects presentations; online forums and presentations; stakeholder and local interest group meetings; community fun days, planting days, festivals and other types of all day interactive events; media and video projects; young people focused outreach; capacity building workshops; and employment and learning programmes that provide opportunities to local people connected with each project.
This role supports in the planning and implementation of all of these activities, as well as presence at events and a leading role in the creation of digital communications. It requires a confident individual who is comfortable speaking with members of the public, and someone who can work across multiple and varied projects.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- research assistant to the engagement team, collating and reporting on local issues and community specific data as well as national policy and emerging thinking in community outreach and social value
- research collation and report writing of engagement activities across all programmes
- carrying our community surveys, writing up resident feedback and data processing resident information, and illustrating findings in feedback summaries
- minute and note taking at meetings
- event planning in-person events including logistics and set up, catering, and welcoming residents to events
- running workshops, work experience placements and creative internships with young people
- creation, coordination and distribution of communications and digital media
- ensuring all residents and community groups are kept informed
- professionally representing Karakusevic Carson Architects when engaging with the community
Skills required:
- excellent communication skills, spoken and written
- strong multitasking abilities
- a high level of attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- ability to work effectively within a team and independently
- competency in applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Zoom
- skills in CS Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator required, other CS programmes desirable
- skills in website, social media and digital content creation desirable
- a positive and motivated attitude
