Mandarin-speaking senior FF&E designer
G.A Design is looking for a native Mandarin-speaking senior FF&E designer to join its London-based practice.
G.A Design is looking for a senior designer to join our London hospitality design team to work on our Chinese projects in very close partnership and collaboration with the Shanghai G.A office and team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing FF&E concepts working alongside the project manager and will be responsible for the preparation of schemes and mood boards to for clients presentations. They will also be in charge of producing full specification documentation in dual languages English and Mandarin through to completion on site and will be responsible for managing and growing the studio’s FF&E library. This is an exclusively FF&E role, with responsibilities varying depending on experience.
The ideal candidate will hold a related qualification and have an understanding of the design/architecture industry with FF&E experience in the hotel interior design field in mainland China, with a minimum of five years’ experience designing FF&E for hotels. They should also be fluent in Mandarin, verbal and written.
Full hands-on project experience of hotel design from presentations and specifications through to installation and completion, along with an extensive knowledge of suppliers in the hospitality industry is essential. A basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Photoshop is desirable.
This person will be based in the London G.A office and it is foreseen they will need to travel regularly to the G.A Shanghai office to assist in coordination of projects and to help grow the Shanghai office’s fledgling local FF&E capability. Should a candidate with the right background and experience wish to be based permanently in Shanghai rather than London, this is something that we would consider, for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with the London and Shanghai teams developing all aspects of the FF&E department, dealing with clients and suppliers alike.
