Lead interior designer- show homes (maternity cover)
London-based Suna Interior Design is looking for a lead interior designer – show homes, for one year maternity cover with a view to becoming permanent.
Suna Interior Design is an award-winning London based boutique interior design consultancy providing interior services for property developers and the hospitality industry. Helen Fewster and Rebecca Tucker head up the London-based studio ensuring that a high level of attention is dedicated to each client and project.
Currently seeking maternity cover to lead an established show home design team. We are looking for a confident and organised individual with experience in residential interior design. The successful candidate will oversee and manage all show home projects whilst supporting the team.
General overview of the role
- to lead and project manage all show home projects completed by the design team
- direct liaison with clients, focusing on guaranteeing client satisfaction
- report back to the Directors with updates on projects and client feedback
- keep an overview on all budgets to assure efficiency and profit margins
Duties
- taking the lead on specific projects whilst overseeing the design teams’ workload at the design stage through to installation and handover
- coordinating directly with the client to make sure the scope of work is completed to a high standard and on time
- assessing internal resources in order to distribute upcoming workload
- mentoring, developing and supporting other designers within the team
- attending client meetings, presentations and handovers
- a high level of organisation and efficiency is required to ensure all client deadlines are achieved
- understanding the clients’ requirements and target markets, developing design concepts in consultation with the client and establishing final briefs
- designing show home schemes, responsible for the project management from pitch to installation/project handover
- sourcing and specifying materials and products according to set budgets
- guaranteeing consistency in all design boards for presentation to clients
- keeping up to date with new developments and design trends in the design industry
Required key skills
- a sound understanding of quality design standards with regards to spatial planning, high spec finishes and styling
- five years minimum of professional, related experience
- experience preferred working within the show home industry
- experience preferred working within a B2B interior design environment
- experience using EstiPC or EstiMac
- CSCS card required
- full, clean, UK driving licence essential
- high level of experience using InDesign, Photoshop, Auto Cad and Illustrator and Microsoft Office Suite within a professional environment
- project management experience within a creative environment essential
- comprehensive knowledge of UK housing developers
- an eye for design and colour, with good 3D and spatial awareness
- comprehensive knowledge of UK suppliers – furniture, fabric and wallpaper
- the ability to visualise concepts and explain them to others
- strong organisational skills, to ensure each project is completed on time and to budget
- strong communication skills, both written and verbal to present and sell the designs, promote and explain ideas, and build relationships with clients
- project management skills, including ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and to oversee team projects
- ability to work effectively as part of a team, on multiple projects
