The company
Corston Architectural Detail was established by a team of creative designers and engineers with a shared vision to create hand-finished architectural details that flow seamlessly from room to room. Our coordinating collections of solid brass switches, sockets, hardware and lighting are made to last.
We’ve grown quickly and seen huge success in our first three years in the UK. And we’ve got ambitious plans to enter more and more new markets. The key to our success lies in our high-quality products and outstanding customer service and operations team, who ensure that Corston customers receive a positive, engaging experience every step of the way.
We launched in France in January this year, and after a successful start, we’re now ready to open our very first Corston store in the heart of Paris’s interior design district, Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
This is a truly exciting opportunity to grow our brand, bring our collections to life and give our trade and retail customers the chance to experience our products in person.
The role
As the store manager, you’ll be the key player in driving the efforts to quickly establish a strong presence in France.
We’re looking for someone with sales and customer experience who can hit the ground running. You’ll be responsible for providing a first-class experience for our B2B and B2C customers, delivering the store customer service and sales strategy, and proactively managing the sales performance.
You’ll manage one direct report, the project executive, who’ll be responsible for the inbound trade sales enquiries generated through in-store and online trade applications.
Your responsibilities:
- manage the day-to-day store operations (opening hours, locking up and staffing)
- create and implement the strategic sales and store plan for trade and retail customers
- meet with trade customers and grow long-lasting relationships
- generate leads and establish and nurture customer relationships within France
- plan and host in-store events targeting customers in the interior and property industries. Working closely with the global marketing team, you’ll research industry professionals who will bring unique touches to these events
Your skills, qualities and experience:
- excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French are essential
- experience working in the interior design industry
- five years of sales experience, retail experience is an advantage
- the ability to build strong relationships with direct reports and customers
- experience forecasting sales and P&L
- flexibility to travel to the UK for final interview and training
