Kitchen CAD designer/draughtsman
at Jack Trench Bespoke Kitchens & Furniture
There is an opportunity for a talented CAD designer/draughtsman to join Jack Trench Bespoke Kitchens & Furniture in London.
We are looking for a mid-to-senior level designer/CAD draughtsman to join our busy and expanding design team. Reporting directly to the head of design and production, the ideal candidate will have a proven background in the design and manufacture of high-end fitted joinery, preferably with a focus on bespoke kitchens and fine furniture.
The role calls for an experienced designer with advanced working knowledge of Solidworks and its application to bespoke joinery. Working on a project-by-project basis, the successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of 3D models, assemblies, detailed technical shop drawings and manufacturing cut-lists as well as the production of high-quality 3D visual renders. Alongside excellent project management skills, he or she will demonstrate a sound knowledge of joinery manufacturing principles and cabinetmaking techniques and processes. Some experience of Corian fabrication and other solid surface materials would also be advantageous.

Key duties and responsibilities:
- refine and resolve issues within the design concept
- prepare 3D model drawings and create accurate and detailed assemblies and manufacturing cut-lists
- produce detailed technical shop drawings as well as high-quality 3D visual renders for client presentations, manufacture and installation
- maintain clear lines of communication with workshop colleagues and assisting with any queries to support the smooth running of the production/manufacturing process
Skills and experience:
- an expert user in the latest version of Solidworks an absolute must
- demonstrable experience in the joinery industry, preferably with a background in the design and manufacture of bespoke kitchens
- an extensive and sound understanding of the best joinery and cabinetmaking practices
- some hands-on making experience in joinery and cabinetmaking would be advantageous
- some knowledge of Corian fabrication and other solid surface materials preferable

- ability to work to strict timelines and excellent multi-tasking skills are essential
- strong work ethic with the ability to work autonomously and within a team
- a professional yet friendly approach in dealing with clients, suppliers and other external parties
- excellent communication skills and fluency in English, both verbal and written
About the position:
- candidates will be considered for a mid-level position requiring a minimum of three years’ post qualification experience
- salary commensurate with skills and experience
- the is a full-time permanent position on PAYE
- our factory and studio premises are based in London, N17 (five minutes walking distance from Tottenham Hale Station for London Underground, National Rail and local bus routes)
- we also have a central London showroom in Clerkenwell, EC1R
