Cross Works has an opportunity for an office manager to join its team in London.
Cross Works (XW) is seeking an experienced office manager to focus on team operations, team well-being and client account management from its offices in London.
XW is a design and technology firm working on projects and initiatives globally, and requires a highly motivated and dedicated office manager to help drive the business into the next chapter of its growth.
We believe in the value of building and maintaining a strong culture internally throughout the business and in building healthy and positive relationships externally with our clients and collaborators. As such, the ideal candidate will have strong inter-personal skills, be empathetic, have exceptional organisational skills and be pro-active in supporting the business’ needs across several areas including general day-to-day administrative tasks as well as HR, PR, client relations and more. The role requires an all-rounder and an ambitious self-starter.
The successful candidate will work alongside the managing director to learn some of the specifics of the business to begin with and gradually assume a variety of studio responsibilities currently under his charge.
Some of the core responsibilities will include :
- existing client relationship management
- building relationships with prospective clients and collaborators
- helping maintain client satisfaction
- generally maintaining and adding to the look/feel of the studios and stocking supplies
- deliver and track weekly work plans to the team
- track allocation of internal resource across projects and report back to management on a fortnightly basis
- oversee teams annual leave/unpaid leave/sick leave to mitigate disruption to projects and maintain team well-being
- hiring/HR processes including co-ordinating recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, arranging staff performance/salary and bonus reviews
- manage the efficient day-to-day running of studio environment in relation to IT (hardware/software), office equipment, maintenance and so on.
- manage the studio’s social calendar; ensuring an active focus on team building and happiness
- coordinating with social media manager to ensure a steady and consistent output of material online and across all channels
Specific skills and experience :
- at least three years’ prior relevant experience managing a studio in architecture or similar creative design industry
- strong communicator with fluent written and spoken English
- excellent organisational and time management skills
- highly confident in all MS365 (Office) software; familiarity with Adobe Creative (e.g. InDesign/Photoshop) suite is a bonus but not essential
- ability to use online accounting software is a bonus but not essential
- an interest in joining a fast growing team, and to be a part of a fast moving and agile work environment
Salary level dependant on experience.
Annual bonus offered.
24 days leave plus eight bank/national holidays.

The role is full time and based in our offices in Bow in East London. ‘Hybrid working’ or ‘work from home’ options are not permitted for this role.
Competitive salary (and annual bonus as standard) dependent on experience and capabilities.
Full eligibility to work in the UK with immediate effect is required.
