Junior design assistant
at Theatre Projects
Theatre Projects is seeking a junior design assistant to join its London-based team.
Theatre Projects is one of the worlds’ leading theatre design consultancies, helping clients to move from first thoughts to opening night. Our work covers briefing and arts management, architectural design, theatre technology and acoustics. We are a global practice with offices in London, Paris, Shanghai and the US; having worked in more than 85 countries on over 1500 projects from studios to opera houses.
We are looking for a design assistant with a good eye for detail to work with our architectural and marketing teams on a variety of projects.
Ideally, you will have the following skills and experience:
- minimum of two-three years practical experience
- strong design portfolio and ability to sketch
- proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and Microstation Office
- excellent written and spoken English
- other languages would be a bonus
We would find particular interest if you’re from architecture, theatre or related design disciplines. A knowledge of construction would be helpful.
The role will be varied but will include:
- assisting directors and designers on the drafting of stages and auditoriums including concept sketches and models, outline schematics and detailed layouts
- working with marketing to design and produce advertisements
- managing incoming project drawings from client and architects
- maintaining and improving our CAD theatre comparative library.
The position is based at our London studio in Kentish Town. The position is permanent full time with an excellent benefits package.
