Mark Lewis Interior Design is hiring a design assistant to join its team in London.

We are Mark Lewis Interior Design, a small (but perfectly formed) interior design studio based in North London. We help busy people create homes that feel like home, blending 19th century architecture with modern English design.

We are seeking a design assistant to join our small team, to predominantly focus on assisting with drafting drawings as well as other studio management duties. We are a small team, so there is ample opportunity to get involved in different aspects of the business.

Responsibilities:

• carrying out measured surveys
• producing and updating 2D and 3D drawings using SketchUp including: existing and proposed plans and elevations (internal and external), M&E drawings such as electrical and plumbing layouts, detailed joinery drawings
• Presenting and annotating drawings for clients and contractors using Layout
• updating website imagery and copy using Photoshop and Indesign
• ordering and managing office supplies and keeping the office organised and tidy

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• a relevant qualification and/or relevant experience
• a serious interest in design
• great attention to detail
• good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Indesign)
• good knowledge of SketchUp
• excellent written and spoken English
• good organisational skills, ability to work under pressure and to communicate well with a wide demographic
• good at taking direction, but also self-motivated and good at using your own initiative
• a desire to learn with a hands-on, can-do approach
