There is an opportunity for a design assistant to join Mark Lewis Interior Design in London.
Job description: design assistant
Location: north London NW5
Application deadline: 16 September
Full-time permanent position: starting salary £20K.
Key responsibilities
Organisational and design assisting on projects, including:
- dealing with initial project enquires and co-ordinating client meetings and site visits
- assisting at site visits and client meetings
- sourcing products, furniture, fixings and materials
- taking measured surveys of rooms and producing plan drawings
- annotating and updating 2D drawings and mood boards for client presentations
- updating job sheets, budgets and schedules
- liaising with contractors and suppliers
- occasional practical finishing work such as waxing and painting furniture
- processing orders of materials and furniture as well as arranging deliveries
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- a relevant qualification and/or relevant experience
- a serious interest in design
- great attention to detail
- basic knowledge of Adobe Creative suite (Photoshop and Indesign)
- basic knowledge of SketchUp
- excellent written and spoken English
- good organisational skills, able to work under pressure, and be able to communicate well with a wide demographic
- good at taking direction, but also self-motivated and good at using your own initiative
- a desire to learn with a hands on, can do approach
