HTC Architects has an opportunity for an architect to join its team in Shoreditch, London.
HTC Architects is a medium-sized Leeds-based practice. We specialise in commercial architecture but are planning to expand into residential projects. We have recently established a London office and we are looking to grow as a company. The position therefore offers opportunities for career development.
HTC Architects is looking for a creative job runner architect in their London office. You will be based in our Shoreditch studio and after an initial probationary period, we will be open to flexible working.

Your role
As a registered architect with a minimum of three years’ post-Part 3 experience, familiarity with Vectorworks and will have worked on a range of project types from commercial to residential. HTC is looking for someone who can take on all stages of a project from feasibility studies, through the design stages and production information. You will have been involved in both traditional and design and build contracts and be up to speed with current legislation and building regulations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- collaborating with team leaders and other team members to develop the clients’ brief through the RIBA work stages, leading the planning and tender process and delivering projects on-site
- delivering planning, detailed tender drawings and Construction packs
- attending design team and client-facing meetings
- attending site meetings and liaising with contractors and sub-contractors
- ensuring compliance with building regulations and sustainability standards
- using the latest technology to create innovative and efficient designs
- contributing to the successful delivery of projects from inception to completion
We are looking for:
- a registered architect with three-plus years’ post-Part 3 experience
- excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work as a team and inspire and motivate junior team members
- proficiency in industry-standard software which enables a transition to Vectorworks and other relevant design tools
- strong design technical and problem-solving skills
- knowledge of the planning process and current building regulations and construction methods
- a passion for sustainable design and a commitment to creating environmentally responsible buildings
