Maison Arabella is seeking a senior interior designer to join its team in London. 

Our internationally recognised interior design studio is looking for a talented senior designer. We are renowned for creating luxurious and innovative spaces across the residential and commercial sectors.

The studio is based in the vibrant design hub of central London and is looking for someone with experience leading residential, commercial, and hospitality projects from concept to completion. It requires strong design skills, client liaison, team leadership, and project management abilities.

This is a rare opportunity to join a team of 10 plus designers and to be part of a successful and growing studio since establishing in 2016. In addition to possessing first rate design skills, the candidate should be confident in liaising with clients and consultants, managing programmes and budgets on a daily basis. The candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, ensure deliverables for each phase are completed with high accuracy, in timely manner, and be key in supporting the development of the growing brand identity.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience, a professional qualification in interior design or architecture, proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of the European supplier market.

Responsibilities:

  • project leadership: have proven experience leading projects from concept creation through to implementation and be able to manage the design process effectively and ensure that projects meet client objectives and constraints
  • team leadership: experience leading design teams and collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals. Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise between team members and project stakeholders are essential
  • technical skills: candidates should possess strong technical skills, including the ability to produce detailed and accurate drawing packages, work with CGI consultants, specify finishes and materials, review shop drawings, and coordinate with consultants and manufacturers
  • Team Development: Candidates should have a track record of nurturing and supporting junior and middle-weight designers, helping them grow and develop their skills within the team.
  • client management: experienced in working closely with clients, understanding their needs and services, and delivering high-quality design solutions that meet their expectations
  • relationship building: strong candidates should have the ability to build and maintain client and supplier relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and fostering partnerships that benefit the studio
  • ensure studio standards and filing are consistent through all phases of the project

Skills required:

  •  minimum eight years’ experience working in high end residential/commercial/hospitality projects in the UK and abroad; must have experience completing/delivering projects
  • professional qualification in interior design, interior architecture or architecture
  • demonstrated design acumen, be an all-rounder, with strong skills in all areas of design and being able to cross style (e.g. from concept creation, interior architecture, palette creation and FF&E sourcing)
  • outstanding communication skills, fluent in English, both verbal and written
  • experience leading multiple and diverse projects and ensuring collaborative approach within the team
  • excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • proficient in all design software, 3D skills (hand sketching and 3D software) and ability to produce high quality presentations (AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop), Rhino   and Microsoft Office suite
  • knowledge of UK and European supplier market is essential
  • British citizen or appropriate right to work documentation
