Interior designer
at Studio B

Studio B is looking for an interior designer to join its team in Bristol, UK.

We are looking for a super talented, somewhat experienced (two years’ industry experience post-graduation is essential), motivated, down-to-earth interior designer to join our studio in Bristol. If that sounds like you read on for more.

We are a small team specialising in commercial interiors and branding within the hospitality, education and leisure sectors, with live projects across the UK. You should be driven, organised, highly creative, hold a vast knowledge of materials, able to communicate with contractors and clients freely.

To apply for this role it is essential to have a good working knowledge of Vectorworks and at least two years of hands-on commercial design experience. Alongside these two prerequisites, we’d love to see a strong desire to develop new and unique concepts, not follow trends and be able to work on projects as a team and alone.

Key responsibilities:

  • assisting in the creative vision alongside our clients and design team
  • delivering and developing design work from concept to delivery
  • ability to present design concepts and ideas with confidence
  • liaising with consultants, suppliers and tradespeople

Knowledge and experience:

  • proven experience working within commercial projects
  • knowledge of space planning and concept development
  • experience producing detailed drawings packages and schedules
  • experience of working to UK planning & statutory requirements
  • good knowledge of joinery, fabrication and construction detailing
  • exceptional attention to detail
  • excellent time management skills
  • strong multi-tasking skills
  • ability to source and specify beautiful FF&E within various budgets
    working to budgets

Skills:

  • sound knowledge of Vectorworks both 2D and 3D software is essential
    knowledge working with BIM is an advantage
  • graduate degree in interior design or similar
  • a minimum of two years of full-time employment as a junior or mid-weight designer
  • please don’t apply if you are coming straight from university
  • excellent rendering/sketching skills is an advantage
  • ability to work to deadlines and multitask across various projects
  • deep knowledge of FF&E, with a finger on the pulse of new and unusual launches
  • working knowledge of InDesign
  • able to work your way around long and details spreadsheet
  • working knowledge of Photoshop for producing concept imagery and adding to renders
