Architect/experienced Part-II/III

Openstudio Architects is looking for London-based architects and assistants. 

Openstudio Architects, based in central London, has an opening for an experienced Part-II or Part-III qualified project architect with a minimum of three years post Part-II UK experience.

We are looking for outstanding candidates who have both an excellent academic track record and a passion for delivering all aspects of their work to an exceptional level.

We are a studio with a diverse range and scale of projects which delivers excellence with a team of people who collaborate happily and effectively. We expect meticulous work, productivity, focus, care and attention to detail, quick thinking and positivity.

It is an advantage if you have the following:

  • familiarity with Apple Macs and Vectorworks
  • excellent presentation and graphic skills with good knowledge of: Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Word and Excel

Short-listed candidates will be asked to prepare a brief design statement in advance of an interview. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

We are looking for someone who:

  • has experience with high quality design projects: both refurbishment work and new-build
  • has excellent understanding of, and appreciation for, materials and detailing
  • has excellent communication skills: verbal, visual and written, including fluent English
  • has the ability to work as both part of a team and also independently
  • has the flexibility to be able to apply themselves to several projects at once
  • has the ability to take responsibility for and check their own work
  • has a positive approach to a diverse and varied workload
  • has outstanding design and presentation skills, for both building delivery and competition submission
  • has a good knowledge of construction and UK Building Regulations and national standards, as well as site experience
  • can prepare information for presentation to planners, clients and consultants
  • will collaborate with consultants and co-ordinate and communicate directly with the team and clients
  • can undertake the production of sub-contract tender packages, including drawings and specifications
  • is able to liaise with sub-contractors to ensure understanding of the work required, as well as review proposals
  • is able to liaise with site managers to resolve on-site issues
  • will conduct regular site visits to check the accuracy and quality of work carried out
  • is able to produce developed technical design information
