Oppenheim Architecture Basel office is looking for a FF&E interior designer with five or more years’ experience in international high-end residential and hospitality projects. We are actively engaged in projects in Switzerland, the Mediterranean and other sites across Europe.
Oppenheim is located at Basel’s Creative Hub – the Dreispitzareal where you will join a unique team of around 45 people from over 23 nations and participate in fascinating projects around the globe. With our office in Miami and within our multicultural team, we exchange ideas in English. Position overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced FF&E interior designer with a strong background in international hospitality and high-end residential design to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work on prestigious projects, collaborate with top-tier clients and contribute to the creation of extraordinary interior environments. As an FF&E interior designer, you will play a crucial role in our design process, ensuring that all materials and furnishings meet the highest standards of quality and aesthetics.
Key responsibilities:
- selection of materials and FF&E: curate and select a wide range of materials, furnishings, fixtures and equipment to align with design concepts and project requirements
- selections of sanitary and ironmongeries: choose appropriate sanitary fixtures and ironmongeries that complement the overall design and functionality
- preparing material boards and samples: develop and present material boards and samples to convey design ideas effectively
- preparing specifications: create detailed specifications for all selected materials and furnishings
- preparing quotes and purchase orders: generate and manage quotes and purchase orders for all materials and furnishings
- supplier relationships and library maintenance: build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring an up-to-date library of materials and samples
- tracking purchases and quotes: keep meticulous records of all purchasing activities, quotes and supplier communications
- lead time and delivery schedule: maintain and manage a detailed schedule for lead times and deliveries to ensure timely project completion
Requirements:
- bachelor’s or master’s degree in interior design
- proven experience as an FF&E designer or in a similar role within the interior design industry
- ability to take over and help on purchasing and styling scopes
- strong creative vision and design sensibility, with a passion for creating exceptional interior spaces
- very good knowledge of ArchiCAD and basic knowledge of Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign, Keynote and MS Office
- strong knowledge of materials, furnishings, sanitary fixtures and ironmongeries
- excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- strong communication and presentation skills
- attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics
- ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- EU/EFTA passport/Swiss work permit
