Studio assistant
at Architecture for London
Architecture for London has an opportunity for a studio assistant to join its team in London.
This is an ideal position for anyone studying architecture or looking for a design-related role.
We are looking for a studio/office assistant ideally with architecture/design-related education or experience to carry out support roles within a thriving practice. The studio assistant would support the studio manager and the senior team.
We are award-winning architects and designers working on a range of private residential, and commercial projects across London. We work toward Passivhaus and EnerPHit standards of comfort and low energy, creating sustainable homes.
The ideal candidate should be looking to build experience and responsibility but also be willing to carry out the basic tasks required in supporting a busy practice. The role covers studio management, IT and marketing.
This is a full-time role based at our studio in Farringdon.
Studio support:
- studio maintenance and housekeeping eg. ensuring supplies in the studio are maintained, answering phones and buzzer, collecting post etc.
- support for administrative tasks, such as client invoicing, helping manage new project enquiries, arranging CPDs etc.
- maintaining internal databases and guides
- preparing and editing documents such as appointment documents and fee proposals
Marketing:
- preparing awards submissions
- researching, preparing and editing written content
- supporting business development
- organising events
- helping with websites and social media
IT:
- being first point of contact for IT issues from the wider team
- trouble-shooting issues with Mac and Windows
- Google Docs and Google Workspace experience required
- troubleshooting server issues
- help with maintaining software licences and accounts
- setting up new user accounts and workstations
- help with maintaining phone system
Essential skills:
- Google Workspace and Microsoft Office experience required
- Adobe InDesign experience required
- experience with Xero and WorkflowMax beneficial
- experience managing AirBnb listings beneficial
- organised
- strong communicator
- high standard of written and spoken English
- proactive and logical approach to problem-solving
- ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads

Salary will be commensurate with ability and experience. Expected salary to be £27,500-32,000.
