Perkins&Will is seeking an intermediate architect with three to five years’ experience post-qualification to join its studio in London.

For this position, we are ideally looking for someone who is a passionate all-rounder designer, who really excels at RIBA Stages 4 to 5 and is proficient in Revit. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a similar scale studio environment and will have the ability to work across a range of sectors, including commercial, education, life-science and master planning. An ability to draw in Revit is a key requirement as there will be a Revit assessment as part of the interview process.

Key responsibilities (not limited to):

  • uses enhanced knowledge of project complexity to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution and living design
  • develops confidence and knowledge in all aspects of the design process, while displaying increasing levels of independence
  • assists in generating creative and innovative design ideas, concepts and solutions while participating as an integral member of the design team
  • generates drawings, calculations and prepares and reviews documentation including schedules, minutes, notes and reports under supervision for all project stages
  • exercises critical and creative judgment and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials
  • completes tasks and responsibilities on projects including scheduling and budgeting in an organised, timely and consistent way
  • self-checks work for accuracy, omissions, legibility and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual
  • expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large
  • takes increasing ownership of tasks within project teams and studio activities
  • participates in design reviews, charettes and pin-ups
  • keeps open communication within team and with designated team leader
  • communicates ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others
  • coordinates effectively with partners and consultants
  • incorporates integrated regenerative design solutions into projects to meet targets
  • represents the practice and raise its profile in a positive manner

General skills required (not limited to):

Software:

  • Revit
  • functional knowledge of 2D/3D production software
  • conceptual modelling tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper
  • Microsoft Office/Adobe Suite
  • visualisation tools such as Enscape and VRay
  • physical modelling tools such as 3D printing and laser cutting
  • presentation tools such as InDesign and Photoshop
  • environmental analysis software such Ladybug and Climate Studio

Licensure/certifications/education:

  • professional degree in architecture
  • LEED GA within six months of hire
  • professional accreditation in one area of living design that interests you: LEED AP with specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, CPHC/CPHE Passive House Institute Certified Passive House or RELi AP
  • continuing professional development per professional registrations
