Conrad Koslowsky Architects is seeking a Part 2 architectural assistant/early-stage Part 3 to join its studio in London.

About the practice

An RIBAJ rising star and recipient of the prestigious Stephen Lawrence Prize, Conrad is also a design tutor on the MArch course at the University of Cambridge. Founded on sustainable practices with a focus on craftsmanship, we are a design-led studio with a commitment to carefully considered designs that can stand the test of time. We develop close relationships with our clients to identify each project’s unique spatial, social, cultural and material contexts, developing inventive responses to these complex settings through an iterative design process.

We are entering a pivotal stage for the practice, with five live projects soon to complete and several exciting new projects in the residential care, private residential and commercial sectors. We intend to use this moment to grow and rebrand the practice and hope to develop long-term partnerships with new employees that are keen on being at the heart of a growing team.

About the role

We are a small and friendly studio looking for a focused, highly motivated and hard-working candidate, ideally with a minimum three-years’ experience in practice, including work on domestic residential projects. The successful applicant will carry projects through all RIBA work stages and will support with models and visualisations. Our projects are in different stages and each will require injections of fresh thinking and energy.

Skills required:

  • excellent design and aesthetic awareness
  • keen interest in craft and construction
  •  model making skills
  • strong graphic, visualisation and layout skills
  • good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
  • working knowledge of MicroStation 2D and Rhino preferable, possibly shifting to BIM
  • basic understanding of UK planning, building regulations and construction
  • an excellent communicator with an organised nature, able to work to multiple deadlines
  • ability to efficiently work across various projects, providing support where needed
  • interest in developing knowledge of all RIBA stages

  • candidates must be eligible to work in the UK
  • salary commensurate with experience
  • fluent in both spoken and written English
  • ability to start work soon
  • willing to consider four-day week
