Martha Schwartz Partners (MSP) is a leading international design practice with studios in London, New York City and Shanghai. MSP is dedicated to design excellence and climate solutions within the landscape industry, and the work focuses on activating and regenerating urban sites and city centres. Situated at the intersection of public realm, urban design and site-specific art, MSP has 40 years of experience designing and implementing award-winning projects at various scales from public art installations to landscape masterplans.
Our strong portfolio of international and national projects leads us to look for a creative, passionate, well-structured and proactive senior designer with exceptional design skills of the highest calibre to join our talented and international team in New York City.
You will be working closely with project managers and the design director to develop creative and innovative design concepts that aim to push the boundaries of contemporary landscape architecture.

- exceptional design skills and a unique visual eye
- ability to generate unique design ideas with a strong conceptual basis
- ability to communicate ideas fluently through hand sketching, diagramming and excellent 3D modelling
- ability to think creatively and outside of the normal parameters of design
- great interpersonal communication skills
- willingness to share ideas and actively participate in group discussions
- ability to take on constructive criticism and directions
- a high degree of self-motivation, flexibility and resourcefulness
- ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a dynamic, international team
- ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously
Requirements:
- degree in landscape architecture, architecture or urban design
- minimum of seven years’ professional experience (at least five years in landscape architecture) in developing designs for complex, high profile projects on multiple scales and typologies
- excellent skills in Rhino (Grasshopper a plus), Lumion, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat)
- proficiency in Revit / BIM and GIS highly desired
- experience on projects from concept design to construction documentation
- knowledge of materials including planting, furnishing and hardscape
- fluent in English (spoken and written)
Salary:
- based on experience range of $80,000 to $95,000
This is a full-time position. MSP offers a competitive salary and hybrid work model with the requirement to be in the studio minimum three days per week.
