About Us

Sogni Di Cristallo is a leading Italian brand specialising in the design, manufacture and craftsmanship of light fittings and architectural glass. With bases in Venice (Italy) and London (UK), our mission is to preserve and innovate the tradition of Venetian glassworking techniques and share them worldwide. We engage in trading, developing and producing custom glass products, catering to architects, interior designers and private clients, and delivering B2B contract projects for commercial buildings, restaurants, luxury clubs, hotels and bespoke projects globally. As SDC expands its business, we are looking to establish a new company branch in NY.

Role

SDC is currently seeking a full-time lead designer and project manager assistant to work on a diverse range of projects in the UK and USA. In this role, you will be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from the initial concept stages to the delivery of detailed designs, specifications, prototype manufacturing and product developments. You will provide support to the London office project manager in managing US-based lighting and architectural projects from the initial brief to completion and project delivery. Working within our Italian and UK-based teams, you will collaborate with clients from around the world with a special focus on the US-based projects.

Responsibilities:

• prepare 3D models and shop drawings for client approval
• develop product designs
• coordinate information flow between the Italian and UK-based teams
• provide documentation for mock-up production
• prepare client presentations and feasibility studies based on design intent and budget
• attend client meetings or site meetings/site surveys
• coordinate the design of glass architectural scale projects
• assist the project manager in coordinating programs, designs, production and project delivery
• lead and oversee the design, production and delivery of US-based projects

Requirements:

• proven work or study experience as an architect or in interior designer sector is preferred. An industrial/product design background is also accepted
• fluent in English. Italian is a big plus. Excellent communication skills
• proficient in 2D and 3D CAD design tools such as AutoCAD and Rhino
• advanced knowledge of Excel (for generating project trackers) and Adobe software (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
• general understanding of glass and metalwork manufacturing methods is a plus
• passionate about problem-solving and identifying opportunities for improvement
• able to collaborate effectively within a remote team and take ownership of tasks to drive projects forward
• excellent organisational and time-management abilities
