Rebecca Hughes Interiors is hiring a junior interior designer to join its team in London.
Rebecca Hughes Interiors is a creatively driven, high-end interior design studio, utilising a collaborative approach with clients to transform space. We believe that we are all shaped by our environments, so our passion is to design homes that uniquely represent our clients at the core. Our style utilises the existing architecture of buildings, which is then enhanced by selected interior finishes to create luxurious and liveable spaces.
This role is based five days a week at our head office in Islington, London.
Working hours 9am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday.
You are a highly motivated individual with relevant experience in high end residential interior design, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment. Passionate about design, you are an organised self-starter, able to prioritise competing demands and you operate well both independently as well as part of a team. You are confident liaising with suppliers and assisting Midweight and Senior Interior Designers across a broad range of projects from concept to delivery. You have a good technical foundation, with a good understanding of high-end suppliers, and you are confidently able to communicate design ideas.
Key responsibilities:
- assist the design team across multiple projects with research, creating concept mood boards, sketches, drawings and schedules
- utilise design software to create visual representations of design ideas
- ability to source FF&E and hard finishes to project specific design requirements
- create client estimates and liaise closely with Procurement Manager to ensure a smooth purchasing process
- attend regular site visits at key stages
- work towards deadlines, supporting project leads to manage project programme and budget
- ensure that sample library is well maintained, organised and presentable
- assist in sourcing and ordering samples for projects as well as studio items
- prepare for and assist at client meetings, for example take minutes, produce sample trays, ensure that presentation materials are laid out
- to be observant of surroundings, constantly drawing inspiration from various sources, feeding into concept design stages
- represent the company professionally and uphold our high standards
Required qualifications and skills:
- a degree in interior design or interior architecture
- two plus years’ post-degree industry experience, ideally in high end residential projects
- proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Estimac, Microsoft Office
- outstanding communication skills, operating at a high level of written and spoken English
