Peacock and Family has a vacancy for an interior design assistant to join its team in London.
Peacock and Family is an interior design studio based in central London, United Kingdom. We have a team of designers working across exclusive residential and commercial interior design projects. We work efficiently and collaboratively to deliver creatively unique interiors to our private clients.
We are looking for an interior design assistant to join our enthusiastic team. The position will be full-time and based in our studio in central London and the chosen candidate will demonstrate a love for design with a proactive nature.
As part of the design team, you will be responsible for managing and updating (on a daily basis) the schedules for all company projects in addition to taking notes and implementing actions from each specific project meeting. The ideal candidate will have at least one year experience in a residential design studio in the UK.
Responsibilities include:
- delivering design packages from concept to construction (technical drawings, plans, elevations and sections/CAD)
- liaising with the onsite project managers and team leaders to ensure a smooth project development
- assisting other team members in the development and preparation of design schemes. Including producing sketches, drawings and mood-boards
- creating and maintaining full project costing schedules and budgets in addition to developing detailed specifications
- sourcing and procuring bespoke joinery and FF&E design with the ability to review technical drawings supplied by others
- working with contractors and suppliers to ensure the design and quality are executed as detailed and of the highest standard
- coordinating all aspects of the FF&E procurement and installation
- the ability to set and uphold programs and maintain deadlines with excellent project management at all times
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in interior design
- at least one year’s post-graduate experience in an interior design role in the luxury residential sector
- excellent organisational and communication skills
- experience in multiple phases of project development and writing up detailed schedules of work
- the ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
- flexible, can do attitude
- fluent spoken and written English
- strong technical skills in AutoCAD are essential
- full proficiency and technical ability in Estimac, Photoshop, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
- excellent supplier and product knowledge, including FF&E and finishes
- financial understanding of project costs and budget awareness
- a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
All candidates should be eligible to work in the UK. Salary will be based on experience.
