  • Part 2 architectural assistant

    MorenoMasey is hiring an experienced Part 2 architectural assistant to join its studio in London.

    MorenoMasey is a design-led practice who help brave people, who understand the value of good design, to create exceptional spaces.

    The practice is closely involved in bespoke residential projects and has extensive experience on brand development for restaurant and bars within the UK.

    We are currently seeking enthusiastic and talented designers with experience to join our team. Responsibilities will include job running, preparation and development of drawn and written documentation, liaising with clients, consultants and contractors, as a vital support role to the design team.

    Design:

    • contributing to and influencing creative direction with stakeholders and creative director
    • proactively developing high quality spatial, architectural and operational designs both independently and within studio creative direction and technical support
    • contributing to charrettes, crits and workshops to develop the project at each stage
    • developing and delivering design information and proactively managing the inputs of disparate technical and regulatory inputs
    • developing and delivering technical designs and information in collaboration with technical team
    • bringing new ideas and energy into the company through self-directed research and a curiosity for excellence in the built environment

    Management:

    • assist project leads in developing the client brief and vision for the project
    • reporting on work progress and issues within regular Project Lead meetings at key stages
    • identifying project risks uncovered in assisting Project Leads
    • professional and impartial contract administration
    • contribute to the careful custody of design quality through the construction process and assist project leads in managing change effectively by understanding requirements clearly
    • looking for opportunities to increase efficiencies and speed up processes across the business

    People:

    • assist project leads in preparing and delivering effective and persuasive presentations to stakeholders
    • delivering the highest quality of drawn and written output in line with studio standards
    • managing and fostering strong, productive relationships with consultants and contractor teams
    • promoting the highest possible image of MorenoMasey in line with the company vision and upholding that image at all times
    • clearly communicating designs and resolving issues within project teams with openness patience and determination, at all times encouraging positive collaboration
    • open communication and sharing of knowledge and knowhow within the studio at all levels

    Successful candidates should have good experience through every RIBA Workstage including detailing skills, proven job running with excellent communication, strong design abilities, on-site experience and knowledge of UK based contract administration. Experience in the UK market along with proficiency in Vectorworks, Microsoft Office, InDesign and Photoshop is essential. Experience of NBS Specification writing would be advantageous.
